SKY ARMY BEGINS Book 1 Ch. 15

     Sky still had his butter sword. After all he had been through, he still had it with him.

     He held it tightly as he stood pressed up against the bars, completely still as he listened. 

     He could hear footsteps just outside the cell he had been hiding in.

     He waited until they were just in front of him until he swung around the edge. As held the sword up to the stranger's neck, his hood fell down and he was staring into one blue eye and one green eye.

     "Dawn!"

     "Sky!" Sky gasped as Dawn hugged him. "Thank Notch you're alright!"

     "Yeah, I'm... I'm fine..." Sky said, still a bit stunned. 

     Dawna's eyes widened as she realized she had hugged Sky. She let go. "Um... Do Ty and Jason know you're alright?"

    "Yeah, and Ethan's fine too. He's fighting over on the squid ship."

     "But this is a squid ship too." Dawn said.

     Sky smiled. "A squid ship in disguise."

     Dawn cocked her head to one side, confused. "Tell me what happened." She said. Her tone made it sound more like an order.

     "Well, first of all, Ethan knows the Captain of this ship, the Explorer, and he used a magic pebble to summon this ship. At one point when you were in the base, Ethan and I were both unconscious, and the Explorer picked us up and saved us. Her Captain is a nice guy named Jordan Sparklez. Ethan used to be part if his crew, and he knew this redstone master named Seth Bling who he used to serve with to help us finish the airship. Then Ty and Jason showed up and we started for home. When we got here, we realized that an actual squid ship was attacking the base, so we started to fight with the help of Jordan and his crew. Everyone went over to the other ship but me. I stayed behind to hold the fort." Sky said all of this in one breath.

     "Sky, we're getting killed over there." Dawn said. "I saw it. We're seriously outnumbered. They need you over there."

     "I need to take care of Jordan's ship." Sky replied. He stuck his sword into the wood floor of the ship to show that he had made up his mind.

     Dawn picked it up again and wrapped Sky's fingers around the hilt. "You go fight. I'll stay here and guard the ship."

     Sky hesitated, staring at his sword. After a moment, he looked back up at Dawn. "But why should I take your place? One fighter is just the same as another."

     "Not this time." Dawn replied. "I saw you in the squid fortress. You fight like no one I've ever seen. If there's anyone who should be fighting for us over on that ship, it's you." 

    Sky didn't respond.

     "Besides, you'll get to kill squids." Dawn added.

     She grinned as she noticed determination dawn in his eyes.
