Ty walked into the kitchen with a small hum, leaving Jason to his own devices in the living room. The General pulled off his helmet and tossed it onto the couch, flopping down beside it. He was only sitting there for a few seconds before something on the coffee table caught his eye.
He grabbed the gold and reddish-pink floral printed box off the table and opened the lid curiously. Inside it was nothing but a silver pocket watch with a matching chain attached to the end. Jason rather slowly reached into the box and picked it up, squinting at it.
Upon closer examination, he noticed odd circle-like shapes carved into the surface of the metal on both sides. It was funny... The watch gave him an odd sense of familiarity, or otherwise that he had forgotten something - something important... Although he was quite sure that he hadn't.
Curiosity getting the better of him, he raised his thumb to the top of the watch. He was just about to click it open when Ty appeared in the kitchen doorway. His eyes widened as he realized what Jason was seconds from doing.
"Don't open that!" He cried.
Jason jumped and stared at him as he raced over and snatched the pocket watch out of his hand. "Dude, what's the big deal?" He asked defensively. "I was only looking."
"The watch is cursed." Ty explained, placing the watch back in its box where it belonged.
Jason raised one eyebrow. "Then why do you have it?"
"I found it a few years ago washed up on the shore of the north coast. Thought it was cool, so I brought it back to the base, but Seto saw it and told me it was cursed." Ty said as he placed the box back onto the coffee table.
Jason crossed his arms, staring up at him almost dumbfoundedly. "...You have such weird interests." He said finally.
For a split second, a look of frustration passed through Ty's visible mahogany-colored eye. He looked as though he desperately wanted to tell Jason something; longing to share a secret that must never be shared... But Deadlox was far too clever to let such a secret slip for such an unimportant reason.
As soon as the look in his eyes had come, it was gone again without a trace. He rolled his eyes again and headed out of the room. "Oh shut up, space boy." He teased.
Jason smirked and turned back around, fiddling with the buttons on the side of his helmet out of boredom. As he did, Ty stopped in the doorway and smiled at him rather sadly. After a moment, he let out a sigh of relief and walked into the kitchen with a single thought in his head.
'That was too close...'
